Hypnosis is a very natural, pleasant, safe, and non-drug
induced state that virtually anyone can attain. When under hypnosis,
your focus turns inward and you become extremely relaxed -- physically,
mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
You gain access to your subconscious mind, where 90% of your total
mind power resides and positive behavioral changes originate.
While hypnotized, you are highly suggestible to statements,
imagery, ideas, feelings, emotions, attitudes, and memories that
support your stated goals. However, you will never accept any suggestion
that conflicts with your ethical or religious beliefs, personal preferences,
desires, responsibilities or well-being. You are free to come out of hypnosis at any time.
You never give up control of your mind or body in hypnosis.
Quite the contrary. As Dr. David Spiegel, a leading hypnosis expert,
professor and associate chair of psychiatry at Stanford University School
of Medicine says in the September 27, 2004 issue
of Newsweek magazine: It's actually a way of enhancing people's control,
of teaching them how to control aspects of their body's function and
sensation that they thought they couldn't.
While under hypnosis, you are typically aware of what the therapist says;
however, there may be times when your conscious awareness drifts as your
subconscious mind becomes more prominent, and you may not remember
consciously everything that was said.
Since the subconscious mind is always present during hypnosis,
it hears and remembers everything.
When deepening techniques take you to a more profound state,
positive suggestions in support of your specific goals are
repetitively implanted into your subconscious where they ultimately
take root, develop, and then manifest as desired changes in thoughts,
beliefs, attitudes, feelings, and actions.
Some post-hypnotic suggestions enable you to re-enter hypnosis more
easily in subsequent sessions. Others create triggers for activating
desired behaviors after you come out of hypnosis and resume your daily life.
The benefits can last for years, perhaps even a lifetime, depending upon
your belief in the process and your commitment to using the tools and tapes provided.
